On a remarkably warm, late summer night, 6 Dobsonian reflectors, all "Liteboxes" built by Barry Peckham of Hawaii, spontaneously gathered at Lake Sonoma. Finally free of city fog and non-stop Mars hysteria, we hardly gave the Red Planet a glance. The smallest prototype Litebox, my 10", is on the far left, dwarfed by the other 12" to 18" Liteboxes. Just the same, here are the deep sky objects I observed last night with my scope (all these images are plucked from the web). The moon rose about 2am and we were back in SF by 3:30.
